2004 Competition: String Quartet

In 2004, the Hugo Kauder Society announced its first annual International Music Competition for young musicians. This inaugural event featured Kauder's works for String Quartet.

All quartets worldwide whose members were 35 years and younger were invited to particpate. After a preliminary recorded round, finalists competed live on June 18 and 19 at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. On June 20, the winners gave a concert at Yale.

First Prize: $10,000 and a sponsored public performance
