Peruse Kauder scores

Many Hugo Kauder scores are available from the publishers listed on our site. As a courtesy to musicians, we have also worked with publishers to offer selected non-printable perusal scores below for you to view the scores. Please return the courtesy by purchasing the required scores.

The compositions are largely written without conventional bar lines. Kauder's use of polyphony, lyricism, and mixed meters contra-indicates the use of "those lines cutting through my music" as he has been quoted. However, there are often dashes above the staff in those movements where there is a definite meter to facilitate ensemble playing.

Scores for the 2011 Competition for Voice

Following are Hugo Kauder art songs. Applicants for the 2011 Competition for Voice must select 15 to 20 minutes worth of Kauder songs from this list to be performed at the Live Final Round if selected a finalist, and at the Winners Concert if selected a winner.
Songs combined into one booklet/PDF can be selected individually (update from earlier posting). A piano accompanist will be provided at the Final Round.
